One of our goals at Basic High School is to provide all students the tools and resources necessary to acquire the personal and professional skills necessary to identify, locate, acquire and maintain employment and/or to enroll in a post secondary educational program.
The College & Career Center is here to offer assistance, coordinate, and guide students (and parents) through the process!

Come in and try using one of our on-line career assessment computer programs. See what jobs might compliment your interests… find out what the average pay is for a certain career… see what you need to do NOW to get there!
We also have many career related reference books and videos available.
- Interested in college, trade school, or technical institute?
Look through hundreds of current college catalogs or go on-line and visit college websites. There might be college out there just waiting for someone like YOU!

- Get information on the CCSD Work Experience Program
This program is designed bridge the gap between education and
occupation. Students will experience the world of work while earning high
school credit. Students can sign up for Cooperative Work Experience if
they are working in a part time job that relates to an occupational field of study. Come in and find out if you qualify!
- Student Employment Resource Center
Are you looking for a part time job? Come in and look through the CCSD “Big Book of Jobs” which has up-to-date job opportunities. We also have many internship opportunities during the course of the school year.
- Applications for Work Permits and health cards are available in the Career Center.
- Tip sheets for job interviews, resume, and job applications are available as well as many internship opportunities.
